Prof. Yuan Yan TANG

Biography: Yuan Yan Tang (Life Fellow, IEEE) received the BSc degree in electrical and computer engineering from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, the MEng degree in electrical engineering from the Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, and the PhD degree in computer science from Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada. He is currently an Emeritus chair professor with the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau, and a professor/adjunct professor/honorary professor with several institutes, including Chongqing University, China, Concordia University, and Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong. His current interests include wavelets, pattern recognition, and image processing. He is the founder and the chair of Pattern Recognition Committee, IEEE SMC. He has serviced as the general chair, program chair, and committee member of many international conferences. He is the founder and the general chair of the International Conferences on Wavelets Analysis and Pattern Recognition (ICWAPRs) series. He is the founder and the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing (IJWMIP). He is a fellow of IAPR.
Prof. Iickho Song

Biography: Iickho Song (S'80-M'87-SM'96) received the B.S.E. (magna cum laude) and M.S.E. degrees in electronics engineering from Seoul National University in 1982 and 1984, respectively, and the M.S.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1985 and 1987, respectively. He was a Member of Technical Staff of Bell Communications Research in 1987. In 1988, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Korea Advanced Science and Technology (KAIST), where he is now a Professor. He has coauthored Advanced Theory of Signal Detection (Springer, 2002) and has published a number of papers on signal detection and CDMA systems. His research interests include detection and estimation theory, statistical communication theory and signal processing, and CDMA systems. Dr. Song served as Treasurer of the IEEE Korea Section in 1989. He has received many awards, including the Young Scientists Award presented by the President of the Republic of Korea in 2000 healthcare perspectives.
Prof. Jixin Ma

Biography: Jixin Ma is a Professor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) and Director of PhD/MPhil Programme at the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Science, University of Greenwich. He has also been the Director of the Centre for Computer and Computational Science (2011-18) and Leader of Artificial Intelligence Research Group (2008–2018). His main research areas include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Information Systems, with special interests in Temporal Representation and Reasoning, Information Security, Machine Learning and Case-Based Reasoning.
He has published 200+ research papers in top-tier journals including Information Fusion, Information Sciences, IEEE IoT, IEEE Trans on Cloud Computing, IEEE Access, Neural Computing and Applications, Information Systems, Neurocomputing, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, the Computer Journal, Applied Ontology, Artificial Intelligence Review, etc., and at esteemed international conferences such as AAAI, IJCAI and ECAI, etc. He has won 6 Best Papers / Student Paper awards and as Principal / Co-Investigator, received research grants worth more than £330,000. He obtained his BSc and MSc of Mathematics in 1982 and 1988, respectively, and PhD of Computer Sciences in 1994. Before his professorship appointment, he was a Reader (2007-2019), Senior Lecturer (1997-2006), and Research Fellow and Lecture (1994 – 1996), at University of Greenwich, U.K. He is also a Visiting Professor at Beijing Normal University, Anhui University, Hainan University, Zhengzhou Light Industrial University and Macau City University.
Prof. Weixiao Meng

Biography: Weixiao Meng(SM’10)received the B.Eng., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Harbin, China, in 1990,1995, and 2000, respectively. From 1998 to 1999, he worked at NTT DoCoMo on adaptive array antenna and dynamic resource allocation for beyond 3G as a senior visiting researcher. He is now a full professor and the vice dean of the School of Electronics and Information Engineering of HIT. His research interests include broadband wireless communications, space-air-ground integrated networks and wireless localization technologies. He has published 4 books and over 260 papers on journals and international conferences. He is the Chair of IEEE Communications Society Harbin Chapter, a Fellow of the China Institute of Electronics, a senior member of the IEEE ComSoc and the China Institute of Communication. He has been an editorial board member for Wiley’s WCMC Journal from 2010 to 2017, an area editor for PHYCOM journal from 2014 to 2016, an editorial board for IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials from 2014 to 2017 and IEEE Wireless Communications since 2015. He acted as leading TPC co-chair of ChinaCom2011 and ChinaCom2016, leading Services and Applications track co-chair of IEEE WCNC2013, Awards co-chair of IEEE ICC2015 and Wireless Networking Symposia co-Chair of IEEE Globecom2015, AHSN Symposia co-Chair of IEEE Globecom2018, leading Workshop co-Chair of IEEE ICC2019. In 2005 he was honored provincial excellent returnee and selected into New Century Excellent Talents (NCET) plan by Ministry of Education, China in 2008, and the Distinguished Academic Leadership of Harbin. He won Chapter of the Year Award, Asia Pacific Region Chapter Achievement Award and Member & Global Activities Contribution Award in 2018.
